Education and Training
Clovis has a vast array of educational opportunities within the local area. Clovis Community College has partnered with local industry to create an industrial technology program to better educate and train the area workforce and also offers customized training programs to area industries.
CCC’s Industrial Technology program teaches the fundamentals of the operation and maintenance of complex industrial systems. Industrial technology students are exposed to a wide variety of maintenance and operations coursework, providing students with a unique blend of training for a high wage and in demand field. This program provides two areas of concentration constructed around industry demands. These areas of concentration are Plant Operations and Equipment and Wind Energy. Associate of Applied Science degrees are available in each concentration. If students choose to complete only the Program and Related Requirements of a particular track, they are eligible for a Certificate of Completion in the respective concentration. In addition to this, five Letters of Qualification can be earned by taking a subset of classes in a specialty area.
Clovis Community College has a history of distinction in its level of accessibility, quality, and affordability. CCC offers over 60 degrees and certifications including Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Arts, Associate of General Studies, Associate of Science, and Certificates of Completion as well as many industry certifications.
While most of these programs emphasize preparation for employment, many of the courses offered will transfer to a bachelor degree program. CCC offers a wide array of courses in the New Mexico Lower-Division General Education Core that are guaranteed to transfer as general education credits to any New Mexico college or university and will also transfer to most other colleges and universities such as Eastern New Mexico University (EMNU).
CCC offers over 130 classes in online format. Complete Associate of Applied Science degrees may be earned online in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, and Legal Assistant Studies. The Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and the Associate of General Studies degrees may also be earned through online courses.

Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) is located in Portales which is 20 miles south of Clovis. ENMU offers bachelors and masters degrees in 80 programs. Some ENMU courses are available on the CCC Campus through interactive television for the convenience of Clovis students.
Clovis is also home to Wayland Baptist University - Clovis Campuses. Wayland focuses on working adults who wish to obtain a bachelor’s or master’s degree. This focus prompts the university to operate on shorter semesters, offer evening and weekend classes, and work to give students personal attention as they sacrifice their time and energy to reach their goals.
Wayland has two locations — one in Clovis and the other at Cannon AFB — allowing serving both civilian and military students well. Their academic mission is “to prepare, in a Christian environment, broadly educated individuals who can move productively into a variety of professions or into further academic pursuits.” The instructors structure syllabus and manage classrooms with the Wayland mission in mind.
